When the light of day and the dark of night meet at twilight,
a visual myth of the in-between time is revealed.

This in-between time in the language of myth is a time that is not a time,
a place that is not a place, a crossover between the worlds and beyond.
This is a powerful time for ritual and magic.

The Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in San Antonio, New Mexico has served as a source of inspiration for Tobi's paintings. The wildness of this place feeds her soul, and the light and atmosphere her imagination.

Tobi's love of the Bosque del Apache is expressed through her advocacy and support for this critical New Mexico high desert wetland. It provides a winter home and food to over 400 species of migratory birds and Sandhill Cranes during their migratory flight in the winter.

Tobi is surrounded by the unique light and expansive landscapes of the Southwest which serves as a constant influence in all of her work. She takes great pleasure in the solitude of painting plein air and frequently captures the beauty of the Southwest in her pastels when on camping trips.
